Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and now Chairman of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), has lauded the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for conducting a free, fair, and credible local government election across Rivers state today. Speaking to the media after casting his vote in Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA) and monitoring the electoral process across Ahoada East and West LGAs, Nwuche praised the seamless and transparent conduct of the polls.
Nwuche noted a massive turnout of voters who voted freely without intimidation. He highlighted the timely arrival of electoral materials across most polling units, with accreditation and voting commencing promptly in units in Ahoada town wards 1, 3 & 4, several units in Ikata and Ochigba ward 6, amongst others.
The presence of well-coordinated security personnel ensured a peaceful atmosphere, with no reported incidents of violence or coercion in the two LGAs.
The election’s free, fair, and credible execution sparked widespread enthusiasm, as the people were exuberant, reflecting unwavering confidence in the government’s commitment to restoring the local government structure.
