Trained in international trade, maritime, and finance law—with degrees from the University of Keele, Aberystwyth University, and King’s College London—he is Principal Partner at Rayfield Associates, specializing in maritime, international finance, intellectual property, and trade law.”

PUBLIC SERVICE

“Rt. Hon. Prince Chibudom Nwuche, OFR, began his public service in 1999 when he was elected to represent Ahoada East/Abua-Odual Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives (PDP, Rivers State). At age 38, his colleagues elected him Deputy Speaker on June 4, 1999, a role he held until 2003.
As Deputy Speaker, he chaired the Committee of the Whole House, co-chaired the National Assembly Joint Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution, and sponsored key legislation, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Act, the foundational Oil and Gas Local Content Act, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Bill (establishing NAPTIP), and bills on disability rights and child labor eradication.
After his legislative tenure, he remained a voice for inclusive governance and community development. In June 2025, President Bola Tinubu appointed him Chairman of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), with Senate confirmation, where he now leads efforts to advance infrastructure and economic growth in the South-South region.
Spanning over 25 years, his service emphasizes legislative impact, regional equity, and uplifting communities in Rivers State and beyond.”
