Hon Prince Chibudom Nwuche has congratulated Sen Magnus ABBE of the APC for his overwhelming victory at the Rivers South East Senatorial rerun elections.He described ABBE as an accomplished law maker and a worthy representative of the Ogoni people and the generality of the senatorial zone;maintaining that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on Senate debates and enhance the welfare of Rivers people.
He also commended the security agencies for doing a good job in securing the state during the rerun and allowing law abiding citizens to exercise their franchise.He insisted that a true democracy is where the people are allowed to vote and their votes translate into election of their preferred candidates.Such candidates are more likely to protect the interest of the masses than candidates that are rigged into office by God fathers and an intransparent and manipulated process. He condemned the pockets of violence that still rocked parts of the state resulting in deaths and injuries insisting that these methods belong to the past and that he looks forward to where the people of the South South can elect those to represent them in a free fair and non violent elections.He urged politicians to allow the electoral process to work and reflect accurately the wishes of the masses and not their personal wishes or interest.
