Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Prince Chibudom Nwuche has received an award of Honour from a foremost group in the South South region of Nigeria under the auspices of Youth Consultative Enlightenment and Mobilization Council.

 

 

Presenting the award at an event on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Ahoada town, headquarters of Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State, the president of the group Mr Nwabueze Sunny said they decided to honour Nwuche with the award of  “The Most Committed and Best Performing Deputy Speaker in Nigeria for his sterling leadership qualities and commitment to the development of the region both when he was in office as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and much more as a lawyer and businessman who has committed his personal resources for the growth of the region.

Mr Sunny who described Nwuche as a role model, mentor and ambassador of youth mentorship, noted the prominent contributions of Nwuche in the creation of the Niger Delta Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the 13% oil derivation that has made more funds available for the development of the region and that the award is an expression of the youths of the region in appreciation of the selfless services of Nwuche to the region.

They urged him to continue to remain the beacon of hope for youths of the region and that of Nigeria at large.

Responding, the Esama Ekpeye Logbo, High Chief Chibudom Nwuche thanked the group for the recognition and honour done him.

Rt Hon Nwuche used the opportunity to charge youths of the region to be peaceful and shun all acts of criminality and violence but to be industrious and hard working.

He urged them to continue to ensure peace and harmonious coexistence amongst the various ethnic groups in the region towards achieving the common goal of ensuring the rapid transformation of the oil region for the good of all
